The vases have been in a state of evolution for many years. What started as cylindrical white shapes with slashes of gray and red have become cream and brown flat vases with glass "drawings" on the front and back.
I "draw" on the glass with red glass cane (thin rods) and an acetylene torch and manipulate the lines into abstract images. Although the drawings are abstract, some people see insects or birds. I form the shape of the piece with the "drawing" in mind and like to offset the image to create further interest.
I like the simplicity of the lines, color and shapes.
